Our Story

Our Story

Bandile Sikwane is a Publisher, Writer and Animator and the founder of GingerGoat Publishing, a South African children’s storytelling studio.

Established in 2011, GingerGoat began as a traditional children’s book publisher creating stories in which African children could recognise themselves, their language, and their emotional worlds.

The studio later developed Read-A-Mation™, a proprietary storytelling format that combines children’s literature with animation while keeping reading at the centre of the experience. Stories are written as literature first, with animation acting as illustration rather than distraction.

Today GingerGoat produces original Read-A-Mation titles through its own digital platform and collaborative network of writers, animators, and voice artists, creating stories that help children read, understand, and love words.
